Newcastle United set to land Federico Fernandez from Swansea?

There’s a reason for that question mark...

Newcastle United’s big issue is that Florian Lejeune is going to be out for an extended period of time with an injury leaving Newcastle United vulnerable at the back. That’s where Federico Fernandez comes in. Looking to be Rafa’s savior at the back, Fernandez is expected to be joining Newcastle United from Swansea. Issue? I’m hearing multiple prices ranging from £3m-£10m.

That’s a big range, and it’s hard for me to gauge the truth of the rumor. The Chronicle is reporting that there is a serious chance of signing Fernandez from Swansea, and that even a bid has been accepted and that this is in the range of about £6m. That’s not a bad deal.

It is believed that Fernandez was attempting to push through a move despite Swansea attempting to increase the price of the Argentinian.

To this very minute, Newcastle United have signed Martin Dubravka, secured a loan deal for Kenedy while signing Ki on a free, as well as having completed the signing of Yoshinori Muto, Fabian Schar, and most recently Salomon Rondon.

It is believed that Rafa Benitez is not looking to push through a move of a number ten, and will likely utilize Ayoze Perez in that rule. Here’s to hoping I’m wrong, and more transfers are on the way.
