Newcastle U18s lose 1-0 in their first match in the 2018 U18 Premier League Cup. Overall the match was an uneventful one but this would be a chance the young magpies would of loved to take since Manchester United were resting some key players.
It was Anthony Elanga who scored the only goal of the match in the 70th minute for the Red Devils.
After the 1st match day, Newcastle sit in 3rd place in Group F. Chelsea and Manchester United are 1st and 2nd respectively while Norwich City are bottom.
The Academies next match up is once again at Manchester United in the U18 Premier League.
