The reserves have already advanced in the PL Cup prior to this match, but it was an important one for Leeds, as they had to win in order to advance. Win they did as they defeated our reserves 3-1.

It was a surprising team sheet for Newcastle as Elias Sorensen, Liam Gibson, and Jamie Sterry were all called back from their loan to play in this match due to lack of playing time. All three players will return back to their loan clubs.

The scoring started in the 25th minute for Leeds and it was less than a minute later when Liam Gibson made a great forward pass to Toure who crossed to Elias Sorensen. Sorensen then flicked it to Sterry who put the ball in the back of the net to tie it 1-1.

Right at the start of the 2nd half, Leeds took a 2-1 lead and never looked back, winning 3-1.

Newcastle finished 2nd in the group and we will await the draw for the knockout round.

The reserves next match is in the PL2 away to 10th place Fulham.
