It was known that Peter Beardsley’s time with Newcastle United was coming to an end. After facing allegations of bullying, the club had initiated an investigation into the matter, and while the details of that investigation remain confidential, we do know that Peter Beardsley is no longer with the club.

A statement by Newcastle United read: “Newcastle can confirm that Peter Beardsley is no longer employed by the club. We are grateful for the contribution Peter has given over the years as a player, coach and ambassador and we wish him well for the future. The club will make no further comment at this time.”

Another statement by Beardsley’s camp read: “I have always honoured my contractual obligations of confidentiality to the club and maintained my silence, which has in itself been very difficult. I am incredibly grateful for the tremendous support I have received and I look forward to the future.”

It should be clear that neither club nor coach are confirming or denying that this parting of ways has to do with the bullying investigation launched against him. But of course, we all know it does.
