MIGUEL ALMIRON - PARAGUAY

Thursday, October 9th (h) Peru (World Cup Qualifier) - 2-2 Draw

This was a brutal match. Which is why in my option, South American World Cup Qualifying is a must watch. Almiron was running throughout the pitch all match as expected. He took a nasty elbow and later, got hurt and was stretchered off in extra time of the 2nd half. Not sure if the injury will lead to a sustained absence or not.

RYAN FRASER - SCOTLAND

Thursday, October 8th (h) Israel (EURO Qualifiers) - 0-0 (5-3 pens) Win

Ryan was subbed on in the 84th minute in a 0-0 game and helped his team see it through. He did get a yellow in the first half of extra time. It’s a good win for Scotland as they are right on the doorstep of EURO Qualification.

JEFF HENDRICK - IRELAND

Thursday, October 8th (a) Slovakia (EURO Qualifiers) - 0-0 (4-2 pens) Loss

Hendrick started and completed the entire 120 minute match for Ireland. Unfortunately he wasn’t asked to help the team in the Penalty shootout in which Ireland missed 2 of them and are now out of the EUROs. Good, steady performance for Hendrick.

EMIL KRAFTH - SWEDEN

Emil started and completed the first 45 minutes in this friendly match. Nothing to note about performance for him he did just fine. Sweden were up 1-0 when he was subbed off.

JAMAL LEWIS - NORTHERN IRELAND

Thursday, October 8th (a) Bosnia (EURO Qualifiers) 1-1 (4-3 Pens) Win

A big penalty shoot-out win for Northern Ireland! Jamal started and completed the full 120 minutes, but just like Hendrick, he wasn’t asked to take a penalty. It didn’t matter though as Northern Ireland won and moved 1 match away from a EURO spot. Jamal seemed to control his side of the pitch and it was a solid, composed performance for him.
