Welcome to our weekly CHIP update after Match Day 23! If you are not up to date with the Comin Home Index of Power or need an introduction to it before going ahead with this week’s update, you can always check our introduction by following this link. Other than that, here’s our most-recent update after the last slate of games took place!

Manchester City’s win away over Arsenal in their midweek make-up game is the strongest power outcome of the year. Since the teams are tied on points and City has the goal differential advantage, they shift to the top of the English Premier League table and thus this win is at the second-ranked team’s ground.

Otherwise, the games actually scheduled to occur this match day were rather meh.

Leicester’s win at the King Power over Tottenham was the strongest outcome from the weekend. It moved the Foxes up the CHIP table and brought an end to the two-match run the Spurs had against strong opponents.

Brentford’s tie at The Emirates last weekend was the second-strongest display of the slate followed by Man City’s win on the road at Aston Villa. Again, it clearly was a modest week for power grabs.

Southampton lost their “six-pointer” with Wolverhampton. Beating the worst team in the league did not do much for the Wolves but the Saints continue to paddle in circles well off the back end of the balance of the league.
