Cabaye interested in Manchester United move?

Stu Forster

There have been some rumors of Yohan Cabaye possibly on the move during the summer transfer window, as both PSG and Monaco have shown interested in the Newcastle United midfielder. Cabaye is a key part of the Toon midfield and many feel if there can just be a link-up between he and Papiss Cisse, the goals could once again come back to St. James Park.

New rumors now surface that Manchester United could be interested in Cabaye and he French midfielder seems to be keen on the possibility of playing for the Red Devils.

"Yes of course. I've liked this club for a long time, I like what they do," Cabaye told Canal+, via FoxSports. "The boss has left but they have appointed a very good successor and he did some good things with Everton.

"They are always well played among the big clubs. Yes for sure, it would be an interesting challenge."

There hasn't been any direct contact between the two parties according to Cabaye, however.

"I have no direct contact with anyone; maybe my agents are currently in the know," Cabaye told Canal+. "As for me, I am here listening. I like England as well. I will need to look at the situation but you never know."

Currently according to TransferMarkt.com Cabaye is valued at £16.5 million, but the Toon don't appear to be interested in losing Cabaye unless the price is significantly higher. The 27-year old has been a key part of Newcastle the past few seasons and still can be a key cog going forward.

"For the moment I am at Newcastle, you never know what happens in football," Cabaye said.
