Jordan Rhodes linked to Newcastle United

Paul Thomas

It seems Newcastle United have been linked with a ton of strikers during the summer transfer window, which isn't a huge shocker since they're looking to bring in two. Blackburn Rovers frontman Jordan Rhodes is the latest to be linked to the Toon, according to Sky Tyne and Wear.

The 23-year old English striker scored 28 goals for Blackburn this past season in the nPower Championship after coming over from Huddlesfield last summer.

Rhodes still has three years on his current contract, so it's unlikely he's going to be a cheap buy this window. On Transfermrkt Rhodes is valued at £10 million, but it's questionable if Blackburn would want to let go of a young goal scorer for that much.

Rhodes has been capped 8 times for the Scotland national team.
