Newcastle United agree to fee, terms for Bafetimbi Gomis per report

Newcastle United have agreed to a transfer fee of £8.7 million for French striker Bafetimbi Gomis, as well as have agreed to terms with the player, according to a report in The Daily Mail.

"We agreed on Newcastle's offer for an eight million euros transfer plus two million in bonuses. The club has come to accept the player's salary claims," Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas said to a French paper, via The Daily Mail. "The deal is now subject to an agreement over the agents fees."

The 27-year old striker should be able to "get over the line" in the next few days as the agent fees are hammered out, which according to Aulas is the only sticking point right now.

Gomis has been capped 12 times for France and scored 16 goals for Lyon last season. He's been a consistent double-digit goal scorer in the French leagues, netting at least 10 goals in the past seven seasons.
