The Newcastle transfer front has been rocky so far during the summer window, but as the clock winds down it appears the club is trying to get a flurry of activity going. The next target the Toon have been linked with is Marseille winger Andre Ayew, according to Sky Sports.
The 23-year old winger/striker has been capped for the Ghana national team 44 times and picked up nine goals for Marseille in 35 Ligue 1 matches last season.
Not only are the Toon trying to get a deal down with Ayew, but their renewed interest in Bafetimbi Gomis appears to have more weight now that Lyon have been eliminated from Champions League play and the fact that Gomis does not appear to be willing to sign a new contract with the club. Lyon is tight with finances, so a deal with Newcastle could be struck by the end of the window.
Then again, they had a deal all but done weeks ago and the bottom fell out. It looks like deadline dealing for the Toon.
