The winter transfer window opened just two days ago, but Newcastle United have already been linked with a surprising move involving 23-year old Montpelier attacking midfielder Rémy Cabella.
The Toon have mostly been linked with strikers heading up to the transfer window, as it's painfully obvious they need a big center forward to pair with the likes of Loic Remy and Papiss Cisse, but another midfielder in the mix could be in the cards.
The report comes from Lee Ryder in the Chronicle and mentions that the club has slapped a negotiable £14 million price tag, which at first glance makes the report skeptical because of NUFC's spending habits. Montpelier are reportedly struggling financially as well, so it's possible they could take a cut deal.
Cabella has played 19 times this season for Montpelier, who are struggling near the bottom of the Ligue 1 table, with six goals and has been compared to Magpies winger Hatem Ben Arfa. Defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa should be familiar with Cabella as well, as they two have played together in the past.
Here's a nice video of him where the first two-minutes are him diving/drawing fouls with his dribbling.
