Remy Cabella to join Newcastle after the season, per report

Montpellier midfielder Remy Cabelly is set to join Newcastle United at the end of the season.

With rumors swirling of a Yohan Cabaye departure at some point, Newcastle United are set to bring in Montpellier attacking midfielder Remy Cabella at the end of the season, according to the club's chairman.

"We have agreed a deal with Newcastle, something I will not go into," Montpellier chairman Laurent Nicolli, via The Chronicle. "However, the deal does not include the departure of Remy Cabella before June. That is a certainty."

The cost NUFC would pay to bring Cabella aboard at this point are unknown, but the rumors suggest £12 million, which seems a bit steep for Mike Ashley and the Toon's spending habits.

The 24-year old frenchman would be a nice addition in the midfield to the squad, especially if Newcastle are bracing to lose their most creative player in Cabaye.

Joe Kinnear has stated that NUFC doesn't plan to lose any players during the January window, but we all know how reliable Kinnear is.

As always, we'll believe a transfer occurred when they're actually over the line.
