Newcastle transfer rumours: Filip Djuricic the Toon's next target?

Newcastle United appear to be targeting multiple players as they try to find a Yohan Cabaye replacement, this time their sites are reportedly turned on Filip Djuricic.

Newcastle United appear as if they're scrambling to bring in a creative midfield presence before the winter transfer window slams shut, and the latest report has the team in talks with Benfica midfielder Filip Djuricic.

With the Toon losing Yohan Cabaye in the midfield to PSG, they lost a creative attacking force and someone who could unlock the defense with longer passes and through balls. With things seemed stalled with Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier, it looks like Alan Pardew and Joe Kinnear have turned to the 22-year old Serbian international.

"It is true about Newcastle, I have been speaking with Alan Pardew this week and so let us see what happens by the end of tomorrow (Friday)," Djuricic's agent Ulisses Santos told One World Sports.

Djuricic, 22, is reportedly not happy with his lack of playing time at Benfica with just 10 appearances this season, most of which came as a secondary striker rather than in the central midfield.
