Newcastle United have been idle thus far on the transfer deadline, save for a Curtis Good loan, but there's a report that Turkish club Trabzonspor have placed an £7M bid on striker Papiss Cisse.
Cisse has been seemingly frozen out of the Newcastle lineup since Loic Remy joined the team, as Alan Pardew continues to favor playing Shola Ameobi alongside Remy. Cisse's minutes have been limited to the final minutes of a match as a substitute or in cup matches.
When Cisse first joined Newcastle he went on a scoring tear, similar to what Remy has done, but the well has since gone dry and after a dispute over the Wonga kit sponsorship over the summer he's been out of favor and not in the lineup. At this point, if Pardew isn't even going to entertain playing Cisse it might be best served to get him off the books and get some more money in the bank Mike Ashley won't spend.
Update:
Appears Cisse won't be moving, at least to Trabzonspor.
Just hearing that Papiss Cisse has turned down a move to Trabzonspor for "football reasons" #nufc
