Newcastle United won't be bringing back striker Luuk de Jong after his second half loan spell with the club.
Newcastle have decided not to sign Luuk de Jong. He played 12 matches for The Magpies but never found the net. #NUFC

It's not a big shocker that de Jong won't be returning, as after his first few matches his form and fit in the lineup seemed to diminish. It was thought that de Jong could play the target man role in Pardew's system, but it just didn't work out. It didn't help that the service to the strikers diminished considerably with the departure of Yohan Cabaye and Loic Remy being out with an injury for a lot of the second half.
De Jong struggled to score in Germany as well, which continued in the Premier League.
There are many players expected to leave the squad over the summer and de Jong's departure was expected by most everyone.
