The 2015 silly season is into the final countdown. Last-ditch rumors and potential moves are swirling all over social media and other parts of the Internet. The once-rumored link between Tottenham Hotspur buying Ayoze Perez for £15m quickly died, but the link between the two clubs resurfaced today.

According to the London Evening Standard, Spurs have inquired about out of form and out of favor Chieck Tioté. Tioté, the savior in the legendary 2011 4-4 comeback against Arsenal, has struggled to get up to pace with McClaren's system and has seen very limited playing time. His pace has looked well off his pre-injury fitness, and his ball handling skills do not look as sharp.

Tioté was mentioned as a blip in the Evening Standard article, listed as a potential alternative to Belgian international Axel Witsel, currently playing for Zenit St. Petersburg. The clock is ticking, so we'll see just how much substance there is to this rumor.
